Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with sports recovery, pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation, well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
Our modern version of cupping utilizes a rubber pump instead of heat or fire to create suction. The pressure that the cups create draws blood to the affected area, increasing your blood flow overall. When people are suffering from physical pain, that means that inflammation has increased locally in that area. Cupping, then, improves blood circulation in that area by attracting immune cells to that location to increase the repair and recovery process, so that the swelling can go down.
Our cupping therapy is incorporated with massage to provide our clients with the optimum benefits and therapeutic treatment.
Cupping therapy is provided by our licensed therapists, Rachel Schmidt and Alicia Carlyle. Cupping therapy massage is available in a 60, 90, or 120 minute session. Both therapists recommend a 90 minute session for optimal results.
