Sports massage is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity, maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries. This service is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to recreational trail runners. Your sport or activity of choice will help determine the technique our therapists will utilize and areas of the body to focus on.
Done with a deeper understanding of human anatomy, to efficiently and safely manipulate the muscles, making sure not to damage fragile tissue any further, our therapist Leo can take care of you.
The technique of sports massage requires digging deeper into the tissue, to release the fascia which are bands of tissue beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs. As it may sound sports massages can be more intensive and often times utilize very deep pressure. Be sure to drink a lot of water in the days leading up to your appointment, and don’t be surprised if you’re a little sore after. The more hydrated you are, the better!
Prevent injuries and the over-training of muscles. Scheduling mid-training appointments can also reveal places that are tight and places that should be addressed in post-workout stretching. Improve your range of motion and increase your recovery time. Feel better, perform better, be your best. Available in 30, 60, 90, or 120 minute sessions.
